The Castle Kitchen

We ended 2021 with enough water in the kitchen to launch a raft. It turns out that pipes don't tend to last 100 years, leaving us with no choice but to engage in a major renovation.

Our 1600 sq foot condo is just enough space for 4. But I was never quite satisfied with the kitchen. It was dated in the layout, with a top bar that divided a dining/nook space from the cooking area. It was my dream to make one big space. That dream came true following a massive pipe leak from the walls into our kitchen.

I have had a layout in mind for years. Pinterest was a great place to create my vision. But the cost of remodeling a kitchen made it so unappealing. Here's a tip: make sure that you have great homeowner's insurance! I was able to get everything that I wanted and more because I was prepared.
